Welcome to the Water RDI Roadmap website

Water research and innovation is one of the key drivers of water security in South Africa and is thus prioritised in the National Water and Sanitation Master Plan and the National Water Resources Strategy.

In support of driving a mature research and innovation system for water in South Africa, the Department of Science and Innovation (DSI), Department of Human Settlements, Water and Sanitation (DHSWS) and the Water Research Commission (WRC) have partnered to develop and implement the Water Research, Development and Innovation (RDI) Roadmap for South Africa. This Roadmap provides strategic direction for South Africa’s investment in water-related research, high-end skills and innovation deployment for a 10-year period.

This website provides a platform for sharing of information on the Roadmap with stakeholders in the Water Sector and the National System of Innovation.
